1. What PawMap does

PawMap helps citizens report dogs in need (street or injured) and helps shelters review cases and adoption applications.

2. Data we collect

• Account data: email (for shelter accounts), authentication identifiers (UID).
• Profile data (shelters): shelter name (if provided).
• User content: reports, notes, adoption posts, adoption applications, and photos you upload.
• Location data (with permission): approximate or precise location used to show cases on the map and attach reports to an area.
• Device and app info: device ID used to prevent duplicate push tokens and support notifications.
• Push notification tokens: Expo push token to deliver notifications.

3. How we use your data

• To provide core app features (reports, cases, shelters, adoption posts and applications).
• To notify shelters about new cases and notify citizens about adoption updates (if enabled).
• To improve app reliability and prevent abuse (security rules, App Check).

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only:

• With shelters when you submit reports or adoption applications related to their work.
• With trusted third-party service providers that help us operate and maintain the app.
• If required by law, legal process, or to protect safety and security.

5. Third-party services

PawMap uses third-party infrastructure and service providers to operate core features such as authentication, data storage, notifications, and security. These providers may process data on our behalf to enable the app to function properly.

6. Location permissions

If you grant location access, we use it to show nearby cases and to create accurate reports. You can disable location permission in your device settings.

7. Photos and camera permissions

If you upload photos (from camera or gallery), the images are stored to support report and adoption features.

8. Push notifications

If you allow notifications, we store a push token to send alerts (for example, case or adoption updates). You can disable notifications at any time in device settings.

9. Data retention

We keep data as long as necessary to provide the service and comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion by contacting us.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational security measures to help protect data.

11. Your rights

Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data. Contact us to request help.

12. Children

PawMap is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal data, contact us to remove it.
